Interesting snippet from the AFD today:
BELIEVE SMOKE FROM THE WILDFIRES OVER INLAND MIAMI-DADE SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE INTENSITY OF STORMS BOTH SUNDAY AND SATURDAY BY PROVIDING A GOOD SOURCE OF CONDENSATION NUCLEI.
Seems the fires in the Everglades are in-part responsible for the severity of the storms yesterday. Pingpong ball size hail reported in Weston. Today we will see more of the same, though with less ferocity. A shortwave trough axis is moving over the area, enhancing the possibility of afternoon storms. Weak variable winds at the surface, which should allow the seabreeze to do most of the work today.
