7th July 2010

Today is forecast tons of CAPE (OP40 says up to 3k by 19z). However as the following link illustrates, the amount of moisture we had for the holiday is quite gone. The wave that is sort of loosely attached to INVEST 96L off the Yucatan has moved west into the Gulf.

MIMIC-TPW (Total Precipitable Water)

The relative lack of moisture will keep convection down, can never rule out seabreeze induced storms, but the easterlies will move them into the Everglades.

Invest 96L is a broad area of low pressure lacking convection. Any development will be slow, any path will roughly mirror Alex.
