Today brings us some serious mid-level drying starting around 9500 feet.  The lift index is at -2.3 and we have a moderate cape around 750.  I don’t see any chance for severe weather, but by the afternoon, with our forecast high of 87F and fairly light winds, afternoon t-storms are possible along the seabreeze boundary.
Today’s AFD notes the mid-level dryness I spot in the skew-t.
BUT WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP THE
MID TO UPPER LEVELS DRY WHICH WILL CONTINUE TO LIMIT ACTIVE
CONVECTION ACROSS THE REGION. FOR TODAY CHANCES OF CONVECTION
STILL REMAIN LIMITED…WITH ISOLATED ACTIVITY POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
WESTERN PORTION OF THE PENINSULA IF THE WEST COAST SEA BREEZE
BECOMES ESTABLISHED.
